Midwifery-placement centered to the design and implementation of all our maternal and newborn interventions! The roles of our midwifery volunteers have been varied and have covered all areas of care including antenatal, delivery and postnatal. Activities have included improving patient triage, patient observation and infection prevention and control systems, promoting respectful maternity care, running immunisation clinics, improving prescribing practices for antimicrobials and supporting sexual health and family planning services.

Midwifery placement locations range from large urban hospitals to small rural health centres and community outreaches. The choice of roles can be flexible to suit the skills, experience and personal preferences of the volunteer. We welcome applications from early career through to senior midwifery staff.
